About Jessi

This started with Pinterest, I'm pretty sure. I'm not entirely clear on it, as I have teenagers and  a very busy two year old. I remember seeing painted furniture, and ending up with an entire bedroom set for free in my garage. I didn't want to just slap things together, I wanted to do great things.

So, I researched and started painting. First, only with spray paint. But, as my garage got more full, that overspray was a problem and I had a few pieces with laminate fronts and decided to go for the adhesive quality of chalk paint.

I'm notorious for saying I am not an artist, mostly because my younger sister is who I have always thought of as the artist. She can paint anything, sculpt, draw, she is crazy talented. But I suppose I am in another sense, but it just feels weird to claim that title yet. It seems undeserved.

I really am a driven person, so when I said I would do this, I came up with the name Nostalgia! by Jessi (because I knew once I had a name I would officially commit myself) and I was off. I had alot of different names I let run through my mind, but what kept coming back was my grandparents house, and other places that I had such strong, positive nostalgic feelings about. I thought, if people could have those kind of positive feelings about their surroundings and I could contribute to that in some small way, that would be a very good thing.

Now, my garage (basement, attic, and patio) are teeming with items I find free or super cheap to do turn boring, broken and old into new, different and hopefully something you will miss you're not home.

Welcome, and thanks for stopping by!
